Edgewater Cottage History

The sign said, "Free to good home." Which is a funny thing for a house to say.

But the owners meant it - the cottage was right by the road, and they were building right by the lake. It was in the way, and needed to go. So my parents, who had been coming to Les Cheneaux Islands for over a decade, cut it in half and moved it 3/4 of a mile down the road to their property.

My father is no longer with us, but his footprint is in the living room from when he stained the floor.  Our family enjoys this place during the summer, taking the time to be together where we can still feel his spirit.
